Wiltshire Council has produced a draft Setting Study for the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site (WHS) which, once adopted, will be used to ensure that developments in Wiltshire do not adversely impact the internationally significant monuments within the WHS and their setting.
A consultation is now under way and runs until 5pm on 17 June.
The draft WHS Setting Study is proposed for adoption as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The purpose of the Setting Study is to help safeguard the Outstanding Universal Value of the WHS by supporting planning decision for development in and around the WHS. The Setting Study will ensure consistency in assessment and decision-making by providing guidance to support decision-makers, developers and designers, applicants and consultees.
