An exciting opportunity has arisen within our World Heritage Site (WHS) Coordination Unit for a World Heritage Site Partnership Officer, working with local, regional and national stakeholders from across the renowned WHS.
The WHS Coordination Unit, hosted by Wiltshire Council and funded by WHS partners, is dedicated to promoting best practices for the long-term protection, conservation and preservation of the WHS’s historic assets, and their Outstanding Universal Value.
As a WHS Partnership Officer, you will work alongside the WHS Partnership Manager to initiate, develop and manage projects that fulfil the objectives of the Stonehenge, Avebury and Associated Sites WHS Management Plan. You will lead the WHS Coordination Unit’s internal and external communications and administration, including minuting WHS Partnership meetings. Specialist knowledge of the historic environment and strong communication skills will play a crucial part in this role to promote the unique identity and ideals of WHS to visitors, residents and stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate will possess a degree in a relevant field or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. Sound knowledge and understanding of historic environment issues including legislation, conservation, sustainability, and planning, will be essential. Excellent ICT skills, particularly with Microsoft applications, website updating, and social media applications, will also be required.
