The first joint Stonehenge and Avebury WHS Management Plan is currently in a period of public consultation which ends on 1 March 2015.

We have held 7 public drop in sessions in January together with 2 meetings with local farmers and landowners who are crucial to the successful management of the WHS.

In the meantime the document is being designed and photographs selected to illustrate it.

Following the end of the public consultation period the WHS Coordination Unit will review comments and respond as appropriate.  The Stonehenge and Avebury WHS Management Plan Project Board which is made up of representatives from the Committees of both parts of the WHS will review these changes and approve them as necessary and then the final document will be signed off by both of our local committees and then it will go off to the printers at the end of April and due to be launched in May 2015.  In the meantime we are preparing our first annual action plan for the 2015/16 financial year so that we can start to implement the Management Plan straight away.

We’d like to thank all those who have contributed so far during the public consultation period.

We will announce the publication date once it has been confirmed on these pages.
