After much deliberation English Heritage regrets to announce that they will not be able to host the summer Solstice at Stonehenge this year.

The celebrations which take place every midsummer, on or around the 21st June, regularly attract in the region of 10,000 people to Stonehenge. With the ban on mass gatherings, and social distancing still the mainstay of measures to combat Covid-19, English Heritage has decided to cancel the Stonehenge event for the safety and wellbeing of all attendees, volunteers and staff.

The occasion will instead be live streamed for free on English Heritage’s social media channels and they hope that this offers an alternative opportunity for people to connect with this spiritual place at such a special time of year.
