A group of volunteers from English Heritage, National Trust, Salisbury Museum, Wiltshire Museum and Wessex Archaeology met together on 1st August at Salisbury Museum.
Over 80 volunteers were given a tour of the space which will become the new Archaeology of Wessex Gallery opening in spring 2014, handled some items from their nationally important collection, had a presentation from Adrian Green, Director of the Salisbury Museum and were given an update on activity around Stonehenge including future volunteering opportunities.
All finished up with tea and cake and lots of chatter!
This is the third “Volunteers Together” event held by Stonehenge Learning Outreach and Coordination Group (SLOCG) which are designed to help keep volunteers informed and to develop a connection with the World Heritage Site as a whole.
